YPF shares in New York soar 12%, although Argentine bonds continue to fall

Argentine Stock Exchanges and Markets (BYMA) operates upwards this Monday, in a day marked by a rise in the shares of the oil company YPF on Wall Street and which begins a week in which the markets’ attention will be focused on the inflation figures in the United States, which will be released this Wednesday.

YPF shares in New York rise 12% this Monday, after the announcement of the deal by maxus and reached US$12.54 per share. Thus, in the last year, the YPF share accumulates a growth of 130%, from US$5 in April 2022 to US$12 today.

Last week, YPF announced that it reached an agreement for the Maxus case in the United States, which will allow the dismissal of all the actions initiated against the Argentine oil company and against Repsol and will grant a release and total acquittal of the claims that were presented at the time by the Trust of Liquidation of Maxus for up to US$ 14,000 million.

YPF and Repsol agree to pay the Trust US$287.5 million eachfor a total of US$575 million, without either of them admitting any responsibility.

The others shares of Argentine companies listed on Wall Street they also have an uptrend this Monday. The ADR of Transportadora Gas del Sur rises 5.26%, BBVA scales 4.12%, Central Puerto rises 3.15%, Pampa Energía recovers 2.95%, Grupo Supervielle rises 2.89% and Banco Macro gains 1, 71% Loma Negra also climbed 1.42%, Grupo Financiero Galicia did so by 1.37%, and Cresud by 1.44%. The one that rises the least is the Adecoagro share (+0.95%).

While the shares that are trading lower during the day in New York are those of Telecom Argentina (-2.14%), MercadoLibre (-1.08%), Despegar (-0.60%) and Edenor (-0. 48%).

Bonds and country risk

The Argentine dollar bonds they maintain the negative trend that prevails in the instruments throughout the last month and this Monday they fell to 3%. Such is the case of AE38, which is the one that loses the most, followed by AL41 (-2.8%). The one that falls the least is CO26, with a drop of 0.6%. This affects the risk countrywhich rises 0.61% to 2,457 points.
