Meanwhile, in the stock segment, the cash dollar with settlement (CCL) advanced 3.9%, to $424.47; while the MEP gained 4%, to $411.23.

Under this scenario, the dollar in the futures market climbed to $18 (+4.4%), while the exchange rate at the end of December reached $459after closing on Monday in $444.50.

For its part, the wholesale dollar (Spot) appreciated 56 cents (+0.3%) and ended at $216.94.

“The futures markets operated with significant increases, except in the most immediate term, reflecting some expectation of adjustment in the prices of the dollar in a scenario that does not completely clear up all the uncertainties,” commented analyst Gustavo Quintana.

The volume traded in the Matba-Rofex and MAE futures market reached US$946 million, according to market sources.
