The measure, in coordination with the Financial Information Unit, aims to prevent and avoid the crime of money laundering and terrorist financing.
Through General Resolution 996/2024published this Friday in the Official Gazette, of the National Value Comission (CNV) in collaboration with the Financial Information Unit (UIF) and with the purpose of preventing and avoiding the crime of money laundering and financing of terrorism.
Thus, the CNV, in compliance with its powers and powers conferred by law, modifies certain articles of its regulations to incorporate the changes introduced, which include new obligated subjects within the scope of the capital market, such as central depository agents of negotiable securities, custody, registration and payment agents, and virtual asset service providers. “These subjects will be subject to the regulations of the FIU and must comply with the established obligations“, states the text.
The resolution also establishes transitory dispositions for certain obligated entities, such as virtual asset service providers and central depository agents for negotiable securities, with respect to the obligations imposed by the previous regulations.
The official text maintains that the resolution seeks to adapt the CNV regulations to the changes introduced by current legislation regarding the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, ensuring that the obligated subjects comply with the corresponding legal provisions.
