Soybean sales begin: the first auction of the 2023/2024 campaign was held

The Santa Fe government, the National Securities Commission (CNV) and the Rosario Stock Exchange participated in the symbolic launch of the soy campaign.

This Monday the first soybean auction of the 2023/2024 campaign was held, in an act that symbolizes the beginning of the commercialization of the main crop that Argentina has today and the key channel for the entry of dollars to the Central Bank (BCRA). The event was attended by representatives of the Rosario Stock Exchange (BCR), the National Securities Commission (CNV) and the Santa Fe government.

This year, the first batch reached a weight of 27,589 kilosproduced by Milho SAS, from San Carlos, province of Corrientes, with the intervention of the Agricultores Federados Argentinos cooperative as broker, and the firm Gualtieri e Hijos in its role as deliverer. The price per ton was agreed at $610,000 (about US$610).

A key event for agriculture and finance

Roberto E. Silva, president of the CNVhighlighted that “it is very important to participate in these meetings, which allow us to listen to the needs and proposals of the market and work on federal financing lines that promote regional productive activities through the stock market.”

For its part, the governor of Santa Fe, Maximilian Pullaroassured that “the claims of the countryside are the claims of the province.”

During the meeting, the board of CNV met with the authorities of the BCR, Matba Rofex and the Argentine Stock Market (MAV SA) based in Rosario with the objective of exchanging ideas and proposals to promote the local capital market.
