Stocks are up slightly on Monday as investors prepare for key inflation data, after almost completely reversing last week’s sharp market plunge.


The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 48 points, or 0.1%. The S&P 500 gained 0.2%, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.3%. Nvidia shares rose 3% to help the Nasdaq rise. Tech stocks Microsoft and Apple also rose more than 1%.
US inflation data
The next US inflation data will be key for markets that remain nervous after increased volatility. The July consumer price index report, due out on Wednesday, will be released in the coming weeks.
