The actor was arrested after being found guilty of contempt of court during a hearing over child support for one of his daughters.

The star of the saga Fast and Furious, Tyrese Gibsonwas arrested after being found guilty of contempt of court during a hearing over child support for one of his daughters.

The actor, who appeared in Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta for the final hearing in his current battle with his ex-wife Samantha Lee, with whom he shares a daughter, Sorayawas ordered to pay $10,690 a month in child support through April 2023.

Yesterday (September 9), Judge Kevin Farmer found him in contempt for failing to make the payments and ordered Gibson to pay more than $73,000 to his ex-partner to avoid jail time, according to court records (via The Hollywood Reporter).

TMZ reported that the actor was released after his lawyer Tanya Mitchell Graham filed an appeal against the ruling that allowed him to delay payment of $73,525 in child support. This includes $7,500 in legal fees paid by Lee.

The actor has reportedly paid $2,200 in child support since 2022, which is 25 percent less than the amount he was ordered to pay in another hearing two years ago.

Gibson and Lee married in 2017. She filed for divorce in 2020 and the couple later released a joint statement calling the split “a painful and significant event in our lives”.

In addition to his daughter with Lee, Gibson has a teenage daughter, Shayla, with ex-wife Norma Mitchell.
