Claudio Tapia has just given a vocal position to the president of the Boedo institution, which is eight points away from relegation. Suspicions of promoting SADs.
The formation of the unity list in the Argentine Football Association (AFA) that heads Claudio “Chiqui” Tapiawho will renew his mandate on October 17 until 2028, was also an example of the positioning and weight of each club within the entity.

Thus, the first fact that caught attention was the exclusion of La Plata Students and Córdoba Workshopswhose presidents Juan Sebastián Verón and Andrés Fassi were open to the arrival of the Sports Anonymous Societies (SAD), in the midst of the war between Tapia and the Government of Javier Milei due to the influx of private capital into the clubs. Apart from this, it was striking that one of the big clubs was left out of the distribution of strategic positions: Saint Lawrence.

Before winning the elections in December, one of the campaign promises of the now President Marcelo Moretti was “regain San Lorenzo’s weight in the AFA”. However, that did not happen. Moretti only occupied the position of member, a fact that reflects Tapia’s assessment of him. The other four greats, on the other hand, occupied key seats: Boca, River and Independiente occupy three vice-presidencies with Juan Román Riquelme, Ignacio Villarroel and Carlos MontañaRacing, for its part, holds the secretariat with Víctor Blanco.
To Moretti’s further discomfort, San Lorenzo’s classic rival obtained one of the three remaining vice-presidencies. David Garzón, from Huracán, kept that place in the AFA organizational chart. Gabriel Greco (Atlanta) and Javier Treuque (Liga Chubutense) complete the sextet.
Moretti’s lack of involvement in the mother club of Argentine football was already a proven fact in the latest arbitrations that were detrimental to the club. The most recent cases, penalties in favor of Vélez and Boca, which were not even reviewed by the VAR.
The fact, one more of the controversies that have the Morettiwas the subject of questioning by the Head of the San Lorenzo Football Council, Julio Lopardowho charged against Tapia. “It is a disgrace what they have done with San Lorenzo. I was a representative in AFA and historically the five big clubs were given the level of importance that they really have,” commented on National Radio the leader who was vice president of Fernando Miele. The latter tried to privatize the club back in 2000, one of the axes that worries Tapia, given that he distrusts the Moretti’s attempts to adopt the SAD modelespecially after the appointment of Alejandro Tamer to the Football Council. Tamer is one of the main collaborators of Federico Sturzenegger in the Ministry of Deregulation and State Transformation, from where SADs are promoted at an official level.
“San Lorenzo cannot be in a committee. That is saying ‘you do not exist’. Beyond the fact that there may or may not be a good relationship with some leader, history must be respected. It does not mean that if you have a vice presidency or a secretary you will be a champion, but I have never seen this in my life,” said Lopardo. And finally, he pointed to Tapia: “It seems to me that he does not know the history of San Lorenzo. Suddenly He was right with Scaloni and Messi and he thinks he can do whatever he wants. There are five million people behind San Lorenzo, there is no Moretti or Lopardo or anyone else. Tapia is the president of Argentine football, he is not the owner. It is a disgrace.”
The statements of Lopardo against Tapia does not seem like a good strategy from a sporting perspective, since today San Lorenzo is just eight points away from entering the relegation zone.
