The Government created the Integrated Social Information System: what it is and how the database that Human Capital will use to implement public policies will work

In line with the Government’s control measures on the distribution of social assistance, Javier Milei’s administration created the Integrated Social Information System (SIIS). This is a database presented this Tuesday through Resolution 652/2024 published in the Official Gazette, and that will be under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Human Capital that leads Sandra Pettovellowith the aim of defining new public policies in the area.

According to the standard published today, said databases will focus on “the integration and interoperability of informationcontributing to the design of social policies that tend towards the efficient use of State resources.”

What is the Integrated Social Information System created by the Government?

The idea of ​​the SIIS that will manage Human Capital It arose from “the need to optimize the resources of the National State in order to plan and implement effective social public policies for the most vulnerable population”given that, as explained in the recitals of the standard, “the availability of integrated, accurate and updated statistical information is essential for the formulation, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of effective public policies.”

Article 5 defines where the budget for implementation will come from: “The expenses that the SIIS may require in due time will be covered by the relevant items of the Ministry of Human Capital.”.

“It is imperative to integrate the information emanating from the Secretariats that make up the Ministry of Human Capital into an integrated social information system to be implemented by it, through the National Council for the Coordination of Social Policies”, with the aim of “evaluating and monitoring current social public policies as well as planning and designing those that are necessary based on the results provided by said information system” states the resolution published in the Official Gazette.

In article 2 of the measure, which bears the signature of Sandra Pettovellothe National Council for the Coordination of Social Policies will be in charge “the custody and exchange of information” from the secretariats to the SIIS.

The main mission of the database created by the Milei government will be “the integration and interoperability of shared data, in order to carry out the evaluation, homogenization, monitoring, systematization, and preparation of statisticsfor the design of evidence-based social public policies.”

For this reason, as mentioned, all the secretariats that respond to the Portfolio with headquarters at Carlos Pellegrini 1285 in CABA, were entrusted “to exchange, provide and keep their databases updated in accordance with and through the SIIS, in accordance with the regulations in force on the matter.”
