What are the tasks of assistance for fires?

Around 800 firefighters are in the area, along with brigade members and also personnel from the Army, who joined to collaborate in the tasks. Although the focus is on Chapel of the Mount It was divided between east (Sierras Chicas) and west (towards San Marcos Sierras), and its intensity decreased in the other three locations.

In the last few hours, due to the critical situation that the province is going through, the Government deployed new resources in the areas affected by the fire. In addition to what was sent days ago, 32 new firefighters and highly specialized technical personnel were mobilized from the National Parks Administrationalong with a minibus and two pick-up trucks. For its part, the SNMF will deploy a new helicopter.

Meanwhile, and according to a report from the National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE)around 43,000 hectares have already been burned in the area, but if the entire province is taken into account, almost 70,000 hectares have been affected so far this year. As has been happening since the forest fires began, the strong wind made it difficult for firefighting planes and helicopters to fly.
