Within the framework of the celebration of the Argentine Diplomats’ Day, the Professional Association of the Foreign Service of the Nation (APSEN) will hold a special day to highlight the contribution of professional diplomacy to the entire Argentine Nation.
The opening of the day will be led by the Chancellor, Diana Mondino and the Minister Eduardo Michel, president of APSEN. The Ambassador will also participate as speakers Julio Glinternick Bitelli and Minister Andrés Mangiarotti.
The APSEN aims to defend the rights of the Argentine diplomatic corps, and promote its solidity, professionalism and federalism, as a basis for the development of an autonomous foreign policy for the country.
The agenda includes the development of three panels. The first will refer to the articulation with the Argentine productive sector. The dialogue, moderated by the Ambassador Marcelo Cimawill be in charge of Daniel Funes from RiojaPresident of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA); Nicolas Pino, President of the Argentine Rural Society (SRA); Gustavo IdigorasPresident of the Chamber of the Oil Industry and the Center of Cereal Exporters CIARA-CEF and José María Louzao Andrade (Camera Software – CESSI).
The second panel will address the contribution of professional diplomacy to the defense of national interests, moderated by Ambassador Mónica García. The exhibitors will be: Mark Cohen, Vice President of the Delegation of Argentine Israeli Associations (DAIA); Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); Silvia Fernandez, former Judge of the International Criminal Court; Gaston Benvenuto, Comptroller General Administration of Ports (AGP) and Mariano BorinskyPresident of the Chamber of Criminal Cassation.
The third chapter of the day will be made up of a panel that will focus on reflection on the future of diplomacy, moderated by the Secretary Maria Eugenia Goya of the Young APSEN. The table will be made up of Juliet ZelicovichUNR-Conicet; Thomas Fohrighead of the SRA Joven and president of the J6 and Gonzalo Bañez, journalist from TN.
The special day referring to the contribution of professional diplomacy to Argentina will take place on Monday, September 30 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Libertador Room of the San Martín Palacelocated in the Retiro neighborhood of the City of Buenos Aires.
