Within the framework of the Education for a new tomorrow program, Ford Argentina Together with its network of concessionaires, they inaugurated the remodeling works of School No. 103 Gauchos de Güemes”, located in Villa Lago Rivadavia, province of Chubut.
With the recent reopening, The program that has been carried out since 2002 has renovated 32 schools throughout the country. The objective is to modernize the 41 rural schools that the automaker and its dealers built and donated to the Nation between 1968 and 1982.
School No. 271 in El Bolsón, province of Río Negro, School No. 188 in Bagual, and School No. 277 Crucero General Belgrano, both in San Luis, are some of the institutions renovated by the oval brand.
The investment made this year by the company allowed, among other things, the construction of a new storm drain, the replacement of the openings with new PVC carpentry with DVH allowing those who attend school not to be cold, and the reconditioning of the roofs. to avoid leaks in times of rain and snow, which affect the area day by day.

At this time, the establishment, apart from providing classes to children at the initial, primary and secondary level, functions as a dining room for its 28 students, who mostly come from rural areas.

The “Gauchos de Güemes” School, founded in 1928 and later relocated to Villa Lago Rivadavia in 1938, is located 12 kilometers from the town of Cholila and more than two hours from Esquel.

On December 6, 1971, a fire destroyed the entire building. In the following months, Ford carried out the reconstruction, inaugurating a new headquarters on September 23, 1972.
In 2022, school No. 103 also received help from the then senator Ignacio Torres, as part of the Comodoro Rivadavia Bridge Project. The initiative focused on recovering computer equipment to donate it to institutions that needed it, contributing to access to technology in vulnerable sectors of the province.
For the reopening, an emotional tribute was made to the students, teachers and school assistants, who were the protagonists of the meeting and were able to enjoy a day of games with their family and friends.
One of the main guests of the day was the hockey player Agustina Albertarioa member of Las Leonas, who participated in a talk with the students, reviewing their Olympic achievements and highlighting the importance of education for personal and professional development.

“We work ahead of time, a year before we select the school we are going to transform into. We began talks with the directors of the school and the concessionaire to understand their needs and agree on the works we are going to do. Now We are working to see what the next school is,” he concluded.
