One of the most popular attractions in the region is the Laguna Grande Reserve. It is located 40 kilometers from El Peñón and its terrain rises to about 4,150 meters above sea level. Its lagoon has the characteristics that it is salt water and attracts the largest population of flamingos in the Puna. This body of water also offers beautiful views because it resembles to reflect the sky and the crater of the volcano that stands almost in front of it.

The region also has other lagoons that are visited by tourism. How to get to El peñón, Catamarca
