Russia’s conflict with Ukraine
The president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silvaurged on Wednesday “avoid escalation” in the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle Eastwhich threaten to “go global.” He did so during his speech video conference at the Brics summit in Russia.
“Avoiding escalation and starting peace negotiations (…) is crucial in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia,” the president asked from Brasilia. The president of China, Xi Jinpingalso asked that “there be no escalation of fighting” in Ukraine at the time of his intervention.
“The crisis in Ukraine is prolonged (…) We must adhere to the three principles “that there is no overflow of the battlefield, there is no escalation of fighting and that there is no fuel added to the fire,” Xi told President Putin and other leaders.
Middle East and Israel
“Gaza has become the largest cemetery for children and women in the world. “This folly now extends to the West Bank and Lebanon,” the Brazilian president also lashed out. “At a time when we are facing two wars that have the potential to become global, it is essential to restore our ability to work together to achieve common objectives”.
The president of Iran, Masud Pezeshkianasked on Wednesday the countries of the Brics group to end the war in Gaza and Lebanon. He urged that all members of the group “use all their collective capabilities and individual” to stop the escalation of violence.

Diana Mondino confirmed that Argentina will not join the BRICS
The chancellor Diana Mondino made an official visit to the India. There, he held a meeting with Subrahmanyam Jaishankarthe foreign minister of said country, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations. In his account on the social network X (ex Twitter) Mondino was clear about the Government’s position in relation to the BRICS: “We ratify that Argentina will not join the BRICS”.
However, he made a clarification regarding the country’s relationship with the BRICS members. “That said, Our business relationship with each of its members on an individual level has never been better. The Government’s foreign policy has been and will continue to be extremely clear,” he noted.
Russia to finance Bitcoin mining farms in BRICS countries
Russia, through Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and BitRiverannounced that it plans to build Bitcoin mining farms in the BRICS bloc countries. It was during the Business Forum of the organization of emerging economies initially Brazil, Russia, Iran, China and South Africa.
Recently, the president Putin signed a law to legalize Bitcoin mining. The regulations establish that only Russian legal entities and registered individual entrepreneurs can mine.
