The local Deliberative Council discusses whether to apply it to all visitors over 12 years of age, under the concept of “Right of urban use.”
After the province of Missions formalize a tax for foreign visitors, which would be allocated to the tourist infrastructure itself, the Deliberative Council from the capital of Land of Fire debate the creation of Ushuaia Tourism Entity (Enutur).
The initiative is promoted by the local government and Enutur would be constituted as an organization decentralized to the municipal Executive that would absorb the Ministry of Tourism. In his argument, he states that he seeks to promote the sustainable tourism development.
The proposal seeks to establish a rate of “Urban use right“to all tourists, Argentine and foreign, over 12 years old. Misiones will charge a tourist tax to foreign visitors
Starting next year the province of Missions will charge a tourist taxwhose value will range between one and two dollars, to foreigners staying in hotels. The decision was approved in the missionary Legislature, during the debate on the 2025 provincial Budget.
