Macri’s definitions in Madrid
During the panel where the news of the CABA election as headquarters, the Buenos Aires official was accompanied by the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida; the mayor of Santo Domingo, Carolina Mejía; the manager of Resource Mobilization and Global Alliances of CAF Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, Ignacio Corlazzoli; and the Director of Finance of BBVA, Javier Flores Moreno.
During his presentation, Macri referred to various topics, from the Argentine situation, public-private coordination and the expansion of artificial intelligence.
“The public-private coordination is essential so that cities have businesses and develop. We have before us the challenge of the artificial intelligence revolution and that raises the need to invest in human capital, which is the most relevant thing that cities have. Articulating the public with the private also implies creating favorable conditions for cities to develop higher value products“said Jorge Macri.
Regarding the situation in the country since the arrival of Javier Milei to Casa Rosada, the head of the Buenos Aires government analyzed: “Argentina has had very good news, the country risk dropped below 1,000 basis points, when we came from 3,000. We were out of the world. The bonds of the City of Buenos Aires are quoted at par, we have no City risk.”
“If there is something that we mayors have, it is solid administrative health, No mayor can spend more money than he earns.. We work in zero deficit and financial balance, we are very responsible in the administration of the resource. We are used to saying no and that is the most difficult thing about management,” contrasted the Head of Government.
At the end of his presentation, Jorge Macri highlighted the value of the main resource that the City has: “We have ahead of us a revolution that we are going to have to face, which is Artificial Intelligence, and where there will be winners and losers. The challenge of cities like Buenos Aires is investing in human capital. The most relevant thing a city has is its people. For example, the lithium of the City of Buenos Aires is its people”.
