Asociación Conciencia holds this Friday, Saturday and Sunday the National Meeting Uniting Goals 2024. This event, which marks the closing of a year of activities in 21 locations in the country, brings together 900 participants coming from public and private education from all over the country. A learning experience where the role of young leadership is valued, the importance of active listening and consensus building through debate using the United Nations methodology. The ceremony, chaired by the head of Conciencia Silvana Vives, included dean of the aforementioned house of studies, Leandro Vergara who highlighted the commitment of these students and assured that “they are here because They have the responsibility to build a better world”.

Uniendo Metas promotes positive young leadership, critical thinking, communication and empathy, fundamental for active and engaged citizenship. During the meeting, Students assume the role of delegates from different nations and will debate issues of global relevancesuch as the right to privacy in the digital age, the situation of refugees, the exploitation of natural resources, and the eradication of gender violence.
In a context of review of teaching and learning methodologies based on the new National Literacy Plan, The program has been incorporated as public policy by several jurisdictions in our country. Mendoza and Chubut have even taken it as an effective dynamic for learning soft skills, incorporating it as a teacher training proposal. For their part, the City of Buenos Aires and the Province have declared it as a program of educational interest for their schools. At the international level, Unicef has taken the program as a space for implementation for Plan A, its globally oriented program to work on the challenges of adolescence and will be giving a conference during the meeting.

The National Meeting Uniting Goals 2024 takes place on days from this Friday until tomorrow Sunday the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires. This event brings together more than 650 young people from all over the country, accompanied by teachers and a team of 45 university volunteers from various locations. Objectives and thematic areas
Uniendo Metas encourages young people to commit to the Sustainable Development Goalsaddressing issues of global significance. Participants will debate issues such as youth labor insertion, the exploitation of critical minerals for the technological future, and the state regulation of personal data in the Economic and Social Council and the Security Council, among other simulated UN bodies. Throughout the event, young people will apply negotiation and diplomacy techniques to reach resolutions agreed upon that reflect their vision and commitment, having to put themselves in the ideological and cultural role of the countries and organizations that must represent.
Educational impact
In 2024, Uniendo Metas brought together more than 8,300 students throughout the countryallowing them to build a deep understanding of global issues and develop a critical awareness about the importance of citizen participation. The program also reached a total of 1,088 teachers and 900 university volunteers throughout the country.
With the support of national and international entities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina and the United Nations Information Center for Argentina and UruguayUniendo Metas has established itself as an essential program in the training of young leaders.
