What does the ‘Bonaerense Identities’ program that Victoria Villarruel criticized consist of?
This program consists of the distribution of works in more than 2,000 secondary schools, teacher training institutes and municipal librariesthrough a catalog of more than 100 books.
The controversy began when parents of high school students spread parts of some of the texts on social networks, among them, sexual scenes from “Cometierra”.
In this regard, the general director of Culture and Education of the province of Buenos Aires, Alberto Sileoniindicated that they were not books intended for primary school children. “They are books for Secondary Education, they are books for Higher Education,” said the official, while emphasizing that “the books come with a guide that advises the recipients,” he explained.
Furthermore, he explained that “they are not books that reach students, they reach the school library” and are aimed at reinforcing the work of teachers when addressing sexual education issues, such as abuse.
“They may have sex scenes, foul vocabulary, they are books that are very explained in the guide“, hill.
Victoria Villarruel was scheduled to participate this Wednesday afternoon in a children’s identity and gender seminar titled “The problem of child sexualization”, in the Senate annex.
