ATE insists with the salary claim: it announced a strike for December 5

The Association of State Workers (ATE) continues with its salary claim and announced a new 24-hour strike for next December 5. The measure of force will also aim to reject the Public Evaluation System for state employees.

The strike was ratified in National Plenary of Delegates which took place at the Eva Perón Amphitheater and had the participation of leaders from all over the country.

“If we state workers don’t go on strike, these guys are wearing us. They have already destroyed our salaries and now with suitability exams that are illegal they intend to continue firing us,” warned Rodolfo Aguiar, general secretary of the union.

ATE strike: the claims of the state

He ATE’s claim is for an “immediate salary recomposition” by pointing out that in the last joint meeting the Government granted a 2% increase for November and 1% for December.

In turn, they targeted the Public Evaluation System that promotes libertarian administration for all State workers.

In addition, it will demand “the cessation of layoffs in the public sector, the reinstatement of all those illegitimately laid off, a stop to the emptying of public organizations and attempts to privatize state companies,” as reported in a statement.

What does the Public Evaluation System consist of?

The Government announced that starting in December an evaluation will be carried out that 40,000 state workers.

The questions will be limited to three categories: reading comprehension, mathematical logical reasoning and public administration.

According to presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni, around 2,000 exams will be taken per day and the evaluation will also include those who are hired as of January 1. He also pointed out that for the tests they work together with several areas and in coordination with the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
