The sector aligned with the Buenos Aires governor, Axel Kicillofaccelerates the political strategy with the launch of the territorial tables “It is with Axel” in the 135 municipalities of the provincewith the aim of strengthening the space with a solid territorial structure and expanding the support base of Peronism in view of the 2025 legislative elections.
After the impasse imposed by the Peronist internal and the recent proclamation of Cristina Kirchner as president of the Justicialista Party (PJ)the leaders who promote Kicillof’s political project once again moved to consolidate his figure as a reference for Buenos Aires Justicialism.
When a year ago Javier Milei won the presidency and began to implement an adjustment policy, Kicillof asked his team to “manage and be creative,” oppose the libertarian’s “bilge and chainsaw” policies and build an alternative to that model in a province governed by Union for the Homeland (UP).
To this end, mayors, ministers and union leaders are now promoting a strategy of proximity: taking to the streets in cities and towns of the province with tables that call for joining militancy and through community meetings with “mateadas” in squares in different cities. These activities aim to recover face-to-face interaction and generate a broader social fabric, attracting local leaders, neighbors, civil organizations, students, professional associations, workers and clubs, said the president’s entourage.
In addition to strengthening the presence in the municipalities, the governor continues to lead his own events, such as yesterday’s Sovereignty Day in the city of San Pedroand management. In each of them, he deepens his confrontation with the policies of Freedom Advances and highlights that, to the extent of its possibilities, the province acts as a “shield and a network to protect rights.”

It was here where a handful of Argentines fought one of the most valuable battles in our history. The powers had blocked the port and had sent their ships with products to market in the towns and villages on the banks of the Paraná. The intention was… pic.twitter.com/PNf0jGS1cd

The Buenos Aires space
“There is only one side here and it is Peronism”they highlight in Kicillof’s entourage when they are asked who to count within the group that works to consolidate his political set-up. They close the conversation with the phrase: “There are no distinctions. It is with everyone in.”
However, when it comes to locating the leaders who are most committed to promoting the figure of the governor in Buenos Aires territory, they stand out. mayors such as that of Avellaneda, Jorge Ferraresi; from La Plata, Julio Alak; from Ensenada, Mario Secco; from Berisso, Fabián Cagliardi; from Villa Gesell, Gustavo Barrera from Villa Gesell; and from La Matanza, Fernando Espinozaamong others.
Furthermore, part of this construction is the Ministers Andrés “Cuervo” Larroque (Community Development), Carlos Bianco (Government), Cristina Álvarez Rodríguez (Head of Advisors), Walter Correa (Labor) and Gabriel Katopodis (Infrastructure) and Vice Governor Verónica Magario.
In this scheme, Bianco is the governor’s right-hand man and main point guard, while Correa and Larroque also have key roles. While Larroque is the link with social organizations such as Barrios de Pie and some leaders of the Evita Movement, the head of the labor portfolio is the one who establishes links with the union sector.
In that framework, they play with Kicillof head of the Autonomous CTA, Oscar “Colo” de Isasi, and that of the Workers’ CTA, Roberto Baradel. The three co-secretaries general of the CGT also participated in the political events led by the governor, Héctor Daer, Pablo Moyano and Carlos Acuña, as well as Andrés Rodríguez, from UPCN.
In parallel, Álvarez Rodríguez and Katopodis They have political ascendancy and have influence both in the suburbs and in the interior, so they also act as links with all sectors of mayors.
The base of that structure is also made up of the members of the governor’s historical core, those who were part of the Center for Studies for New Development Center for Studies for Argentine Development (CENDA) created in 2004. There are the ministers Augusto Costa (Production), Pablo López (Economy), Agustina Vila (General Secretary), Cristian Girard (ARBA), Juan Cuattromo (Banco Provincia), Javier Rodríguez (Agrarian Development) and Santiago Pérez Teruel (General Counsel). Also, one of the people he most trusts, the Minister of Communication, Jesica Reywho has been with him since 2011.
The background of the tables
Kicillof’s political space had its origins in the so-called “Ensenada Table”an area of debate for Kirchnerism that met last year in the district governed by the Mayor Mario Secco to outline the electoral strategy. Later, that scheme was reconstituted and the governor’s allies began to work to position him at the head of the process of reconfiguring provincial Peronism.
Last May, the plenary session “La Patria No Se Vende”, in Florencio Varelawhere 35 thousand people participated. There, a document was prepared with content that openly confronted Milei.
Other significant events were the one held in September in Santa Clara del Mar; and the celebration on October 17, in Berisso, for Loyalty Day, which was attended by 50 thousand people.
