After the arrest, the National Director of Migration of Paraguay, Jorge Kronawetterexplained that the senator “is in the nature of an arrestthen the prosecutor will decide whether to leave him detained with a defense lawyer to give his statement” and that “it must be analyzed whether the possible commission of the crime of smuggling or money laundering is present.”
The senator did not present sworn statements in 2022 and 2023, but in 2021 he stated that he had US$8,500in addition to two properties in Entre Ríos, two vehicles and three savings accounts in pesos where a sum close to the $1.5 million. Additionally, it carries two judicial cases for alleged illicit enrichment: one in Entre Ríos Justice and another in the Federal Justice, in charge of the judge Sandra Arroyo Salgado.
Who is Edgardo Kueider?
Entrerriano, 52 years old, began in elective positions when he was voted as councilor of the municipality of Concord in 1999. He then continued in the local management of that district until 2015 when he held the role of Secretary General of the Government of Entre Ríos. Four years later, he was elected national senator, topping the ballot Front of All in his province.
In 2023, he was one of the drivers of the breakup of the bench of Union for the Homeland in the upper house. Senator denied having shared a trip with Kueider
