According to the Chamber of Automotive Commerce (CCA), In November, 151,174 used vehicles were sold, which represented an increase of 14.25% compared to the same month in 2023 (132,314 units). On the other hand, if compared to October (171,606 vehicles), the decrease was 11.91%.
In the first 11 months of the year, 1,584,796 units were sold. It was an increase of 3.42% compared to the same period in 2023 (1,532,371 units).
Alejandro Lamas, secretary of the entity, explained that November showed a slowdown in the sale of used cars compared to October. He said that “given this decline, we must not forget that seasonally it is common for this to happen.” But he considered that “the volume traded is still important and maintains both the comparison with the same month last year and the accumulated year-on-year in positive territory.
“With only one month of sales left until the end of the year, the data tells us that 2024 will close with a volume higher than 2023 when 1,650,000 units were sold,” Lamas highlighted.
He considered that “to the extent that the announced policies continue to be consolidated in terms of lower taxes, ease of marketing abroad and therefore an increase in the supply of products, we are moving towards 2025 with a much more orderly market and with consolidation projections. in growth”
Regarding the interior, the ranking of the 10 provinces that grew the most so far this year were Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Mendoza, Chaco, La Pampa, Córdoba, Tierra del FuegoChubut and CABA. Regarding those that decreased, it is led by Formosa, Misiones, Jujuy, Santiago del Estero, La Rioja, Salta and Tucumán.
