This Saturday the news broke that Fernando Martínez, one of the owners of Don Satur, passed away last Wednesday at 93 years old. He was the son of Don Saturnino, the founder of Argentina’s iconic fat cake factory. He was also recognized as one of the promoters of “the cow revolution.”

Martínez was fired this Saturday by the Argentine Holando Breeders Association (ACHA), of which he was a part since the times when his family entered the agricultural activity. In addition to the renowned Don Satur products, he was a dairy producer with the La Sorianita and La Sorianita II farms.

In 1967 Don Saturnino Martínez founded a bakery in Ramos Mejía where he already produced the fat biscuits that would make him famous. As time went by, the fame of the biscuits grew in such a way that the entire family dedicated themselves to increasing production to supply an increasingly greater demand.
