The granddaughter of the historic leader of the AFA Julio Grondona, Lara Grondonabecame president of Arsenal of Sarandí, and marked the beginning of a new stage for the Viaducto club.
The institution in the south of Greater Buenos Aires, with a history closely linked to the Grondona family, renewed its leadership after the recent Members’ Assembly, in which the Report and Balance corresponding to the period July 2023 – June 2024 was approved.
During this event the new Board of Directors who will lead the project until 2027 and will have Lara Grondona as the boss of the institution.
The new president, granddaughter of Julio Humberto Grondona, former president of the AFA, will be accompanied in the vice presidency by Julio Ricardo Grondonahis father. Also part of the new structure are Nicolás Falanga, Federico Wisner and Hugo Pasos, who will serve as general secretary.
As defined in the Assembly, the conduct of this new stage will seek to consolidate the club’s position and, in the future, return to the Professional League.
Lara Grondona has a deep connection with Arsenal. From the age of 18 he began to get directly involved with the institution, beginning his career in the press area with Roberto Beck.
Her career within the club allowed her to gain in-depth knowledge of its operations, which now positions her to lead the next cycle. With this designation, the Grondona family reaffirms their role in the history of an institution that they have accompanied since its origins.
Lara Grondona will be the fourth member of the family to serve as president. The first was his grandfather between 1957 and 1976, when he became the highest authority of Independiente de Avellaneda. Then it was time to Hector Grondona -brother of Don Julio- who served as leadership between 1984 and 1994. Finally, Julio Ricardo Grondona was in charge from 2001 to 2024.
The Members’ Assembly was held at the Julio Humberto Grondona Stadium, where attendees unanimously approved the financial and administrative reports for the last year.
In addition to confirming the continuity of the Board of Directors until 2027, the commitment to the institutional and sporting growth of Arsenal was highlighted, an objective that now has Lara Grondona as its main representative.
