What was the event in which Hediger died?
“For the Swiss-Ski family, a dark shadow falls over the Christmas period with the tragic death of Sophie Hediger,” said Walter Reusser, president of Swiss-Ski, in a statement. According to the details provided by the media, it is estimated that around 1:15 p.m. local time, Hediger was traveling with another person on the closed Black Diamond track.
Both people left the track and Hediger was caught by an avalanche on a slope. Rescue teams located her at approximately 3:30 p.m., but any resuscitation attempts had to be interrupted at the scene of the accident, according to the Graubünden cantonal police.
