Confirmed the news, Frigerio expressed: “We promised it during the campaign, the political reform is not only for the political sector, it is a benefit for all Entre Ríos residents and in less than a year of administration it is already Law.”

Specifically, the governor highlighted the incorporation of the Single Paper Ballot, which “is a great step in terms of modernity, care for the environment and a saving for the State” of around 1,500 million pesos, which “has has a lot to do with the austerity that we are imposing on all public management.

And he reiterated: “This reform is a State policy, it is not a reform of a political party or a governor. It is the result of dialogue and the search for consensus, because it is a reform that will be applied for many years, probably decades from now on.”

“After several months of discussions and debates, today we sanction political reform, one of our campaign promises is now a reality,” He emphasized and added that, “after almost a century, we Entre Ríos people are going to vote, starting in 2027, in a different way; in a more transparent, more agile and more modern way, in line with what is happening in other provinces of the region. Entre Ríos was the only province in the Central Region that voted like a century ago.

Saving

It should be noted that the Single Paper Ballot will imply significant savings for the State, since in the 2023 elections 1,245,681,056 pesos were spent on printing ballots, This is equivalent to 30,000 kilometers of paper, eight trips from Ushuaia to Quiaca; 31,050 reams and two Patronato fields full of trees.

In this way, the coastal province will join other districts that already have the BUP system, an initiative that is advancing after Congress approved its incorporation for the national elections.

For example, Mendoza was one of the pioneers and her system was used as a model by the Government to promote the project throughout the country. They will also use the BUP Chubut, San Luis and San Juan, among others.
