The Mystery of Salem’s Lotthe film based on the novel by Stephen King was one of the most chosen in the year 2024 in the max platformbelonging to HBO. In this slight resurrection of the vampire genre, this new story came to crown the appearances of ‘The Last Voyage of the Demeter’, ‘Renfield’, and ‘Abigail’. It spent 2 months in the top 10 on the platform, several weeks in the number 1 position.
It tells the story of a small town in the northeastern United States that faces a plague of vampires that quickly begin to terrorize and infect all the inhabitants. This is a different style of vampires than the ones we are used to in cinema, more skillful and dangerous and invasive and contagious.

The story is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King and focuses on a town that little by little begins to be invaded by vampires. These beings spread quickly, quickly infecting all the townspeople, and are presented in a very different way from the rest of the vampires historically shown in series and films of the genre.
Everything starts from point of view of Ben Mears, a horror writer who returns to that towncalled Jerusalem’s Lot to visit an old house where he had a traumatic experience in his childhood. Upon arrival, he discovers that the entire territory is being consumed by a plague of vampires led by the enigmatic and terrifying Kurt Barlow. Eventually, Ben joins a group of people trying to combat the threat to save the city.
