The president of the lithium mining EXAR, Simon Perez Alsinacelebrated the production milestone of 25,000 tons reached at the end of 2024 and anticipated that in 2025 they will seek more operational efficiency and make new investments.
EXAR achieved its annual lithium carbonate production target, after exceeding the 25,000 tons on December 27 at 4:15 p.m. This record positioned the company as the main reference in the sector in the country.
The Argentine company is made up of shareholders of the Chinese company Ganfeng Lithium, the canadian Lithium Argentina and the local Jujuy Energy and Mining State Society (JEMSE). In that province the conglomerate is dedicated to the development and production of lithium carbonate in the Cauchari-Olaroz Salt Flatswhere the “Cauchari-Olaroz Plant”.

This year it put its production plant into operation, after an investment of almost US$1,000 million. In 2024 it reached the goal of 25,000 tons of lithium carbonatebut the objective is to achieve a capacity of 40,000 tons per year of battery quality lithium.
“The lithium industry has faced a challenging environment, with a notable downward trend in prices in recent years, which we are optimistic about its growth.”added the owner, who now runs a mining company that generates more than 2,100 jobs, between direct and indirect workers.
