The Oscar contender film The Brutalist used Artificial Intelligence to augment dialogue within a scene, the film’s editor revealed.
In an interview with Red Shark News, Dávid Jancsówho also edited the 2024 action film Monkey Manused the artificial intelligence software Respeecher to correct a sequence in which a letter written by the character of Adrian BrodyLászló Tóth.
Jancsó explained: “I am a native Hungarian speaker and I know that it is one of the most difficult languages to learn to pronounce. Even with Adrien’s Hungarian background, it’s not that simple. “It’s an extremely unique language.”
“We trained (Brody and his co-star Felicity Jones) and they did a fabulous jobbut we also wanted to perfect it so that not even the locals would notice the difference.”

“Talking about AI is controversial in the industry, but it shouldn’t be”said. “We should have a very open discussion about what tools AI can provide us. There’s nothing in the movie that uses AI that hasn’t been done before.
“It just makes the process a lot faster. “We used AI to create those little details that we didn’t have the money or time to photograph.”
The Brutalist won three Golden Globes at this year’s ceremonyincluding Best Dramatic Motion Picture and Best Dramatic Actor for Brody’s performance as a Jewish-Hungarian architect who emigrates to the United States and pursues the American dream.
