The Collection Agency of the province of Buenos Aires (ARBA) intensified its control operations in countries and nautical nurseries in Tigre and San Fernando, where it managed to recover more than $54 million in taxes owed by high-value vessels and detected 39 thousand square meters built without declaring before the treasury.

The executive director of ARBA, Christian Girardpointed out that “the immediate regularization of debts by the owners of these luxury vessels shows that there are speculative attitudes. During the operations in the Santa María de Tigre country, three yachts who accumulated debts $8.7 million. In the San Fernando Nautical Park Consortium, other six boats they owed $27 millionwhile, in Marinas Park, Rincón de Milberg, four boats with a total arrears of $9.1 million.
“The most significant case was that of a yacht valued at 440 thousand dollars, moored in San Fernando, whose owner regularized a debt of $10.3 million in a matter of minutes. At the real estate level, the inspections carried out in the countries of Santa María, Santa Clara, Santa Teresa, Marinas H, San Gabriel, Santa Ana and El Canal revealed that half of the 39,153 square meters built without declaring were taxed as vacant landconfiguring a significant evasion of the Real Estate Tax.
“These results show us the decisive importance of maintaining permanent controls over the sectors with the greatest contributory capacity, which have the resources to comply but prefer to play hide and seek with the State,” concluded the head of ARBA.
