The IDB reaffirmed its support to the economic program of Argentina after meeting with Pablo Quirno

The Secretary of Finance held a meeting with executives of the financial institution in Santiago, Chile.

He Secretary of Finance, Pablo Quirnoheld a meeting with the president of the Inter -American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn. The meeting occurred within the framework of the 65th Annual Meeting of the Assemblies of Governors of the IDB and IDB Invest, in Santiago, Chile.

In addition to Quirno and Goldfajn, the Executive Vice President, Jordan Schwartz; Bid Invest general manager, James Scriven; The director by Argentina, Miguel Braun; and the Undersecretary of International Financial Relations, Matías Mana. At the meeting, the country’s economic situation was reviewed and the relevance that the support of the IDB group has for the development objectives of Argentina.

IDB support to the Argentine Economic Program

At the meeting, the financial institution expressed its strong support for the joint program with the government, in a sample of confidence in the country. This support is part of a strategic coordination with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, with a view to guaranteeing a solid and consistent implementation of the new economic agreement.

Under that line, they dialogue about strategic initiatives for the country, such as the financing of private investment projects and cooperation in regional integration issues, particularly through the “Southern connection” initiative.

In accordance, the Government expressed its support for the capitalization of IDB Invest, and the regional initiative “prepared and resilient in the Americas”, promoted by the IDB, reaffirming the joint commitment between both parties in order to promote economic development and stability in our country and in the region.

At the end of the meeting, Goldfajn said: “He held an excellent meeting with Finance Secretary Pablo Quirno. The IDB is committed to support Argentina in the framework of the joint strategy and its projects in the countryin coordination with the IMF and World Bank and the measures that the Argentine government is implementing ”.
