Argentine shares rise up to 3% on Wall Street;  country risk falls for the second day in a row

In the Buenos Aires stock market, the S&P Merval index advanced 0.1%, to 87,858.30 points, after giving up 0.43% in the previous round.

The main increases corresponded to Grupo Financiero Valores (+4.5%), Cablevisión (+3.2%), and Loma Negra (+2.6%). For their part, YPF (-2.8%), Pampa Energía (-1.4%) and Mirgor (-1.1%) led the declines.

Argentina must pay some 2.9 billion dollars to the IMF in March, when the central bank’s net reserves are at zero or negative, according to analysts, which would force Congress to deal with what was agreed by President Alberto Fernández before that date.

The oil company Vista announced at the close of the market on Monday that increased its proven reserves by 42% and increased production in 2021 by 46%, which helped to consolidate its profitability in the Vaca Muerta area, in the Argentine Patagonia.

Bonds and country risk

In the fixed income segment, securities denominated in foreign currency operate with the majority of increases, while the country risk prepared by the JP. Morgan bank for the second consecutive day: fell 1.7% to 1,773 basis points. In this context, the Bonar 2038 gained 1.5%, while the Global 2035 fell 1.6%.
