The S&P Merval stock index it gains 0.7%, to 88,673.02 points, with which it accumulates an advance of 6.24% so far this year, compared to an inflation of 3.9% registered in January. In this way, it operates for the second consecutive day on the rise.
In the leading panel, the main increases up to 3.4% are led by Edenor (3.4%), Transportadora Gas del Sur (2.4%) and Irsa (2.2%). Grupo Financiero Galicia (GGAL) operates with a rise of up to 0.2% after presenting balance sheets where it obtained a net result in the fourth quarter of the last year of $8,991M, doubling what was achieved in the same period of 2020.
The Banco Galicia segment obtained a profit of $7,476M while the other relevant business for the company, Tarjeta Naranja, ended the quarter reaching $1,140M. We must highlight the strong slowdown experienced by Tarjeta Naranja, as a result of higher provisions for bad debts and the accounting adjustment for inflation.
As for the losses, Ternium Argentina (TXAR) falls sharply on Wall Street up to 13% despite having reported a profit of $36,417M in the presentation of results for the fourth quarter of 2021. These results reflect a slowdown compared to the three previous months, represent a year-on-year growth of approximately 158% in relation to the $14,121M obtained in the same period of 2020. One of the reasons that explains the slowdown compared to the third quarter was the 7% drop in dispatches, due to a decrease in exports. But this was partially offset by the increase in the local sale price, which increased around 5% compared to the previous quarter.
In the fixed income segment, securities denominated in foreign currency extended most increases of up to 1.7%, led by Bonar 2038, Global 2030 (1.4%) and Bonar 2029 (1.3%). The drops respond to Global 2046 (-0.8%) and Bonar 2041 (-0.1%).
As for bonds in pesos adjusted by CER, they climbed up to 2% after knowing the inflation data measured by INDEC, which showed 3.9% for the January CPI. The rise is led by TX28 followed by PARP (0.8%) and DICP (0.4%).
The risk country prepared by the JP Morgan bank cuts downtrend and rises 0.1% to 1,764 basis points.
