The man, who was with the tourist who died in Karachay-Cherkessia, spoke in an interview with Izvestia on Thursday, February 17, about what had happened. The incident occurred on February 16 at the 11th km of the federal highway “Entrance to Arkhyz” in the Zelenchuk district of the KChR.

As reported in the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the Republic, the car with the tourist group stopped near the village of Kardonikskaya. At this time, a Lada Vesta car with local residents drove up to him. There was a verbal conflict that escalated into a fight.

“There were seven of us. I wanted to go to the toilet, the driver stopped. Oleg went to relieve himself. I actually stood by too, I just hadn’t started doing it yet. Local guys were driving a car, saw us, stopped and aggressively began to ask what we were doing. They said that it’s not customary for them,” said Artem Aprichnik.

According to him, the tourists apologized, but soon a fight broke out. The man added that one of the men stabbed the tourist, the blow was quick and delivered “very quietly and unnoticed by everyone.”

Aprichnik also clarified that an ambulance was called to the wounded man, but he died on the way to the hospital. At the same time, the attackers fled immediately after the murder and did not try to help the victim.

According to investigators, the person who committed the crime has been identified.

According to Izvestia, the alleged criminal Abdullah Bostanov is a resident of the village of Zelenchukskaya. He is currently on the federal wanted list. In 2015, a 33-year-old man had already been convicted of arms trafficking.
