The automobile echelon of the ZVO continues to return to the PPD after the exercises

Another motor vehicle convoy of Western Military District units began to march to the point of permanent deployment after the completion of the planned exercises. This was announced on Friday, February 18, by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“The convoy includes about 30 heavy vehicles with personnel, special equipment and military equipment,” the report says.

It is noted that on the routes of movement of automobile convoys, the work of posts of the road commandant’s service is organized, and the crews of the military traffic police provide escort for the convoys.

As specified in the defense department, after returning to the points of deployment, military equipment will be prepared for further planned exercises.

On the eve it was reported that another echelon with military equipment of the units of the Southern Military District (SMD) crossed the Crimean bridge on its way to the point of permanent deployment after the end of the Belarusian-Russian exercises.

Also on February 17, units of the logistics brigade of the Western Military District arrived at the point of permanent deployment after the completion of planned exercises. On February 16, the tank army of the Western Military District, following the units of the Southern Eastern District, began to return to the points of permanent deployment. Earlier that day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the return of units of the Southern Military District from Crimea. On February 15, part of the units of the Southern Military District and Western Military District also returned to their places of permanent deployment.

The joint Russian-Belarusian exercise “Allied Resolve – 2022” started on February 10. They are aimed at testing the response forces of the Union State. The maneuvers are taking place at combined-arms training grounds in Belarus. The exercises are arranged for the qualitative development of the tasks “to suppress and repel external aggression in the course of a defensive operation, as well as to counter terrorism and protect the interests of the Union State.” The exercises are due to end on February 20.

On February 16, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei specified that all Russian military and equipment would leave the republic after the end of the joint maneuvers.
