In Karachay-Cherkessia, prisoners of the pre-trial detention center rioted during a planned search. This was reported on Friday, February 18, in the department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the republic.
The incident took place a day earlier in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Cherkessk, more than 20 prisoners took part in it.
“During the search, 21 suspects and accused of committing grave and especially grave crimes related to murder, robbery, robbery, extortion and rape resisted the administration of the institution during a planned search,” the department told TASS.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, the rioters damaged the viewing eyes in the doors of the cells and damaged the property of the institution. The prisoners accompanied their actions with shouts and obscene language addressed to the employees of the pre-trial detention center.
The incident was reported to the prosecutor’s office. After that, the management of the OFSIN and employees of the administrative apparatus arrived at the isolation ward.
This fact is under investigation.
In autumn, a criminal case was opened after a riot of prisoners in Vladikavkaz. Riots, accompanied by pogroms and destruction of property, took place in correctional colony No. 1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in North Ossetia – Alania in October. About 200 people took part in them. During the inspection, dozens of knives and sharpeners were found, as well as communication equipment and chargers kept by the prisoners.
