People’s Artist of Russia Boris Nevzorov died at the age of 73 from the effects of COVID-19. This was reported on February 18 at the Maly Theater, where the actor has worked since 2005.
Earlier that day, the artistic director of the theater, Yuri Solomin, announced that all performances with the participation of the actor were canceled. Nevzorov was in the hospital under medical supervision.
Boris Nevzorov is a famous Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, film director, teacher. He was born on January 18, 1950 in the village of Starominskaya, Krasnodar Territory, in the family of party worker Georgy Iosifovich Nevzorov.
In his youth, Nevzorov became interested in the stage and entered the Shchepkinsky school, but two years later he stopped studying. Later he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School.
Nevzorov received his first acting experience at the New Drama Theatre. The cinematic career of the artist began with a leading role in the melodrama “Roads”.
The actor gained great fame after the works “Young Russia” and “Moscow Speaks”. For the first picture, Nevzorov was awarded the Vasilyev Brothers State Prize of the RSFSR. The second work allowed him to receive a silver medal named after Dovzhenko.
Among the iconic works of Nevzorov are such paintings as “Find and Defuse”, “The Best Road of Our Life”, “City Above Our Head”, “First Guy”, “Everything Ahead”, “Ravines”, and others.
