Investigators opened a criminal case in connection with the death of two workers who fell off the roof of a house while cleaning the roof from snow in Klimovsk near Moscow. Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Moscow Region, announced this on Friday, February 18.

“The Investigation Department for the city of Podolsk of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region initiated a criminal case into the death of two workers while cleaning the roof of the building from snow (part 3 of article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of labor protection requirements”),” said representative of the department to the Moscow City News Agency.

Vradiy noted that a number of investigative actions are planned to establish all the causes and circumstances of the incident. The investigator conducts an inspection of the scene, eyewitnesses are being interrogated, forensic medical examinations are also appointed.

According to the State Housing Inspectorate of the region, people worked without insurance, according to the 360 ​​TV channel.

Earlier that day, in Klimovsk, near Moscow, three workers fell off the roof of an apartment building while clearing snow.

Two workers died from their injuries. Another was hospitalized, NSN reports. He is receiving medical attention.
