Putin signs annual decree on conscription of citizens in reserve

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on conscription for military training of Russian citizens who are in reserve. The corresponding document was published on Friday, February 18, on the portal of legal information.

“To call in 2022 citizens of the Russian Federation who are in the reserve to undergo military training in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, the state security bodies and the bodies of the Federal Security Service,” the document says.

The head of state instructed the Russian government and the executive authorities of the constituent entities to ensure the implementation of measures related to the conscription of citizens for military training.

The President of Russia signed the previous decree on military training on April 26, 2021.

Military training for the storerooms is held in Russia annually. Their goal is to improve the professional skills and knowledge of military personnel. Participation in the training camp, as a rule, is accepted by those who, during military service or studying at a university, have mastered the specialties that are in demand in the army. The appeal applies to those who have already completed military service, and those who have been exempted from it or had a deferment.

On October 1, 2021, the Russian leader signed a decree on the autumn draft for military service from October 1 to December 31. It was reported that more than 127 thousand people are planned to be drafted into the army.
