The annual tourist flow to the Krasnodar Territory will increase by 5 million people. This was announced on Saturday, February 19, by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko, who took part in the ceremony of signing an agreement between the Tourism.RF corporation and the administration of the Krasnodar Territory.
The document provides for the joint development of the region’s tourism infrastructure. The agreement was signed by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev and the Director General of JSC “Corporation Tourism.RF” Sergey Sukhanov.
“We expect that due to the implementation of projects, the annual tourist flow to the region will increase by 5 million people, and thousands of new jobs will appear in the subject,” Chernyshenko said.
According to him, the Krasnodar Territory is one of the regions of Russia where conditions for year-round recreation have already been created, but the potential has not been fully tapped.
“The President instructed us to accelerate the development of domestic tourism. As part of the agreement, the leadership of the region and the corporation “Tourism.RF” set an ambitious task – to build complex all-season world-class resorts in the Kuban at the expense of investors and develop new types of tourism. In the horizon of six years, dozens of new hotels with 50 thousand new rooms should appear in the Krasnodar Territory. First of all, these will be affordable and comfortable accommodation facilities for our tourists. Those tools that are in the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry” allow businesses to ensure an unprecedentedly short payback period for their projects. In the near future, construction will begin, including facilities for the entertainment industry, aqua complexes, health centers. The embankments will be reconstructed, the adjacent territories will be landscaped,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Chernyshenko noted that the most striking projects are the center of ecological, gastronomic, historical tourism in Abrau-Dyurso or the Vasta Valley – a huge new ski tourist resort. There is also a large area in the village of Blagoveshchenskaya in Anapa.
“All this creates examples that other investors will follow, using the support tools provided by the Russian government,” he said.
According to Sergey Sukhanov, General Director of the Tourism.RF Corporation, it is planned to develop three complex territories within the framework of the agreement. This is Abrau-Dyurso, where a resort with infrastructure for historical, ecological and gastronomic tourism will appear. It is also planned to reconstruct the historical center of the village of Abrau and the promenade around the lake. The second project is the Vasta Valley resort in the Sochi mountain cluster. The third is a tourist cluster in the village of Blagoveshchenskaya in Anapa.
“With the support of the regional administration, we will launch tourist clusters that will become anchors for the Kuban. In addition, we plan to identify promising tourist areas and are already working on new projects. We will develop types of tourism that are popular and in demand among Russians and guests from abroad,” Sergei Sukhanov added.
The Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev, said that the region plans to receive up to 22 million tourists annually by 2030.
“For this, the region must have such a level of service for tourists that they come back to us. The agreement with the Tourism.RF Corporation will be another tool that will allow us to do this. Gastronomic, rural, cognitive, and wine tourism are actively developing in the region today. There are winter beaches. About 40% of vacationers last year came in the off-season. The sanatorium and resort industry is becoming more and more investment attractive. Last year, the investment portfolio of the industry grew 3.5 times and reached 108 billion rubles. Our resorts are the pearl of the whole country. As part of the implementation of this agreement, the Krasnodar Territory has every opportunity to raise the sanatorium and resort industry to a qualitatively new level,” the head of the region added.
In the near future, the corporation “Tourism.RF” plans to sign a number of agreements with the regions. Some projects will start construction this year.
