In Ingushetia, an accident caused an oil spill into a canal

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Ingushetia has launched an investigation into the oil spill into the Alkhanchurt Canal. This was announced on Saturday, February 19, on the website of the department.

It is noted that the incident occurred due to an accident on a bridge in the village of Nizhniye Achaluki, Malgobek district, involving a Maz car and a tank truck carrying oil products. A prosecutor’s check has been launched on this fact.

“As a result of the overturning of the car, the driver of the heavy truck was not injured, but there was a spill of oil products into the Alkhanchurt Canal,” the report says.

According to the department, compliance with the legislation on road safety and the transportation of petroleum products, as well as the requirements of environmental legislation, will be checked. In addition, work to eliminate the spill of oil products was taken under control.

Based on the results of the audit, prosecutorial response measures will be taken.

Earlier, on February 10, it was reported that the prosecutor’s office of the Yuzhno-Kurilsky district of the Sakhalin region began an investigation into the spill of diesel fuel on Shikotan Island. According to preliminary data, the fuel spill occurred in the village of Malokurilskoye during bunkering operations. It was noted that experts will be involved in the verification.
