The criminal case was opened on the basis of media reports about ice falling on two girls in Yaroslavl. This was reported on February 20 by the press service of the regional department of the Russian Investigative Committee.
“Earlier, publications were posted in the media that on the morning of February 20, a snow mass descended from a residential building on Titov Street in the city of Yaroslavl on two girls born in 2009 and 2010. With injuries, the minors were taken to the hospital, ”the ministry said in a statement on its website.
It is clarified that nothing threatens the lives of children, the severity of injuries is being established.
According to media reports, the investigators opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements”).
On February 18, ice fell on a minor in Orel, as a result of which he received a severe head injury and was hospitalized in intensive care. A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“negligence”).
On the same day, law enforcement officers detained an Orel administration official in this case. Investigators examined the scene of the incident, and also conducted searches in the city administration.
