Operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg detained a suspect in the attack on 88-year-old composer Alexander Kolker. This was reported on Sunday, February 20, on the website of the department.
It is noted that he was a 46-year-old resident of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The suspect was detained in one of the city’s hostels in hot pursuit.
“Currently, the suspect has been taken to the police department for investigation and clarification of the motives for the attack. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved, the possible involvement of the detainee in the commission of other crimes is being established, ”said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.
Earlier that day, it was reported that 88-year-old composer Alexander Kolker was attacked in St. Petersburg. The incident occurred in the elevator of one of the houses on the Black River embankment in the Primorsky district of the city.
The footage from the surveillance camera, which came into the possession of Izvestia, shows how a man with a covered face enters the elevator with a knife after the musician. He then knocks Kolker to the floor and hits him several times. As a result, the composer received a hand injury.
Now the pensioner does not feel very well after what happened and is not ready to comment in detail on what happened.
“He feels very bad,” the composer shared with Izvestia.
Alexander Kolker is the author of over a hundred songs. The most famous are “Fog”, “Rain”, “Guy from the Petrograd side”, “Girls are standing”. In 1981, the composer was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
