In Nizhny Novgorod, an ice block fell from the roof of a residential building on the head of a six-year-old girl, local media reported.
The incident took place on Donetsk street. According to the mother, already at home the child’s health began to deteriorate rapidly.
“My daughter had dizziness and nausea at night, after that we turned to a neurologist in the morning,” the woman said.
In the hospital, the victim was diagnosed with a concussion and was urgently sent to the neurosurgical department.
The girl spent five days under medical supervision before she was allowed to return home. However, she still complains of headaches, her mother notes.
The incident was not ignored by law enforcement agencies. On February 20, the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Nizhny Novgorod region announced the start of inspections in connection with improper work on the maintenance and cleaning of public places from snow and ice.
On January 18, in Nizhny Novgorod, a 55-year-old man died as a result of an ice block falling from a roof. In fact, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence”).
