Investigators began a pre-investigation check after the bodies of three fishermen were found in a tent on Lake Kotokel in the Baikal region of Buryatia. This was reported on February 20 on the website of the regional UK.
“During the inspection of the scene, a plastic bottle was found inside the tent, filled with a liquid with a characteristic smell of alcohol. No visible bodily injuries were found among the fishermen, ”the Investigative Committee said.
A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the exact cause of their death, the ministry said.
The discovery of the bodies of fishermen on Lake Kotokel became known earlier on Sunday.
According to the agency, three residents of Ulan-Ude went fishing on February 19. Having driven on the ice, they set up a tent, settled in it and turned on the gas burner.
Another group of fishermen who arrived at night did not find any traces near the place in the morning. By noon, they checked the tent and found the bodies of men inside, as well as the acrid smell of household gas.
