Clothing, accessories and hygiene products have become the most sought-after gifts for Defender of the Fatherland Day – moreover, the demand for these goods has grown by tens of percent compared to 2021, Wildberries online retailer told Izvestia.
“According to sales data from February 7 to 20, the most popular gift for February 23 will be socks. Compared to last year, the growth in sales in pieces amounted to 58%. Panties are in second place (+73%), deodorants are in third (+149%),” the press service of the company said.
Belts (+98%) and shaving foams (+134%) were also in the top five most popular holiday products. The top ten included purses, electric razors, hair clippers, ties, and army packs.
“This year, Russian men are also waiting for unusual gifts. So, due to early warming, there was a surge of interest in goods for summer cottages (+145% compared to 2021), garden equipment (+246%) and tools (+119%), Wildberries reported.
The pandemic also contributed to the gifts for February 23 in 2022: due to the widespread use of remote work, men will be given 163% more house trousers than in 2021, 76% more bathrobes and 55% more pajamas, Wildberries added.
