Investigators in the Pushkin city district are investigating the circumstances of the death of one worker and the injury of two more as a result of a fall into an elevator shaft. Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Moscow Region, announced this on Tuesday, February 22.
“According to preliminary data, three workers built a wooden platform and carried out work in the elevator shaft of a house under construction. As a result, under the weight of the platform collapsed, and the men fell into the mine. All three were taken to the hospital, where one of them died, ”a representative of the department told the Moscow city news agency.
Investigators are at the scene and an investigation is underway. All the causes and circumstances of the incident are being investigated. A procedural decision will be made based on the results of the audit.
Earlier, on January 13, a criminal case on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements was opened after the death of two people due to a fallen elevator in the President Hotel in Moscow. According to Izvestia, the workers involved in the repair of the elevator, 32-year-old Khaik Khazaryan and 31-year-old Artak Bezoyan, were killed. Both are citizens of Armenia.
