An 11-year-old girl drowned in a swimming pool in the Korkinsky district of the Chelyabinsk region, a criminal case was opened. This was announced on Sunday, February 23, by the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
“A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Performance of work or provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health, resulting in the death of the victim”), the report says.
According to local media, the incident occurred at the Baden-Baden thermal resort with outdoor and indoor pools, which is located 40 minutes from Chelyabinsk.
The UK notes that the schoolgirl was vacationing in the complex with her family. According to preliminary data, the girl’s hair was sucked into the hole for draining the water, she could not swim out and died.
Earlier, on October 25, artist Vasily Bubnov drowned in the pool of a fitness club in Moscow. The man became ill in the water: a few meters from the side, he lost consciousness and began to sink. People on the adjacent paths did not notice anything.
