The Russian government has included hookah mixes and tobacco sticks in the Chestny Znak digital labeling system. The corresponding resolution was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the text of the document, until October 1, 2023, the circulation of non-labeled products will be allowed, however, from March 15, 2022, retail sales will be possible only if information about their sale is transferred to the information monitoring system, writes the website aif.ru. The decision will come into force on March 1, 2022.
The press service of Chestny Znak noted that retailers and manufacturers are ready to label nicotine-containing products. They recalled that the country is also conducting an experiment on labeling electronic cigarettes and liquids for them.
In early February, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on conducting an experiment in the country on labeling certain types of electronic delivery systems for nicotine and nicotine-containing liquids. The experiment also includes categories of alcoholic beverages, dietary supplements and antiseptics, reminds NSN.
Tobacco labeling is being consistently introduced in Russia to reduce illegal circulation, now cigarettes and alternative tobacco products are already subject to it.
