The Ministry of Defense denied that its website was hacked by hackers

The Russian Ministry of Defense denied that its website was hacked by hackers, which the department announced on Saturday, February 26.

“The information disseminated in social networks by sofa fighters for the victory of Ukraine about the alleged hacking of the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense by the Anonymous hacker group and the “stealing” of personal data of employees of the military department is a fake that is primitive to laughter,” the report says.

The ministry noted that all the hardware and software of the Internet portal are functioning normally.

Earlier, on February 24, Anonymous claimed responsibility for the February 24 hacking of the RT channel. DDoS attacks on the site lasted for six hours and in a quarter of cases were conducted from the United States.

Later that day, the hacker group declared cyberwar on Russia by tweeting about it. Computer hackers added the hashtag #Ukraine to their message.

In addition, on February 24, according to the NBC television channel, American intelligence agencies suggested that US President Joe Biden disrupt the Internet connection and turn off the power supply in the Russian Federation. And also to disrupt the work of the railway in order to “undermine the ability of Russia to continue to conduct a special operation.”

According to sources – two American intelligence officers, one Western intelligence officer and another person informed on this issue – the decision to conduct such operations has not yet been made.

In addition, US intelligence agencies are separately considering the option of a “large-scale cyber attack” on Russian resources.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. After that, the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of hitting the country’s military infrastructure and introduced martial law throughout Ukraine. He also said that Kyiv is breaking off diplomatic relations with Moscow and withdrawing its diplomats from the embassy.

The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the army did not carry out air missile or artillery strikes on the cities of Ukraine. The civilian population of the country is not in danger. High-precision weapons destroy military infrastructure. As of February 25, 211 Ukrainian military installations, including American Javelin anti-tank missile systems and British NLAW, were disabled by high-precision weapons.

On February 21, Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the LNR and the DNR. Also, the Russian leader and the heads of both republics Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin signed agreements on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance. The documents were ratified the next day by both the republics themselves and the Russian State Duma.

The situation in Donbass escalated on February 17. In the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, heavy shelling by Ukrainian security forces was reported, including from heavy weapons. The republics announced a general mobilization and evacuation of civilians to the territory of Russia.

Since 2014, the Ukrainian authorities have been conducting a military operation against the inhabitants of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, Kyiv blames Moscow for the current situation.
