Missile systems “Yars” took part in the preparations for the Victory Parade

Missile systems “Yars” took part in the preparations for the Victory Parade. This was announced on Saturday, February 26, in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“In preparation for the military parade on Red Square on May 9, 2022, a mechanized parade column of launchers of the Yars mobile ground-based missile system will march from a permanent deployment point in the city of Teikovo, Ivanovo Region, along the M7 federal highway through the Moscow ring road to a settlement near Moscow Alabino (distance about 400 km),” the ministry said in a statement.

On the eve of the Ministry of Defense sent invitation letters to journalists with a proposal to talk about the march of military equipment in preparation for the Victory Parade.

“On February 25, 2022, we invite you to prepare a report on the march of launchers of the Yars mobile ground-based missile system of the Teykov missile formation to the village of Alabino to participate in a military parade on Red Square,” the invitation says.

The personnel and equipment of the Teykovskaya Missile Division has been participating in the military parade on Red Square since 2008. In Alabino near Moscow, on a site that imitates Red Square, preparatory training of equipment and the military for the parade is being held in order to start rehearsals in Moscow in April.

During the march, drivers of multi-ton complexes had to maneuver along roads with heavy traffic of civilian transport. Part of the route ran along the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD). Some drivers took photos of nuclear facilities and posted them on the Internet.

Later, fake information began to spread in Ukrainian Telegram channels that the Yars were allegedly heading to the territory of Ukraine, since they did not have holiday symbols – the St. George’s Ribbon.

Since the beginning of the special operation to protect the population of Donbass from shelling by Ukrainian security forces, the Internet has been filled with numerous fakes, which were subsequently exposed. This was the case with the video about the attack on Ukraine by Russian Grad systems.

Users found the source and found out that the video, which is issued as evidence of “Russian aggression”, was made last year during the military exercises of the Russian Federation. The video was published on April 27, 2021. Fake was a video about the “massive shelling” of Mariupol. The video of the “Russian attack” has spread on the social network TikTok and has already gained more than 4 million views.

On February 25, a fake about “Russian saboteurs” in Kyiv, which was spread by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar, was exposed on social networks. The information was not confirmed, moreover, a video was published in a number of Telegram channels indicating that the video was staged. Another video was also exposed, in which footage from the popular shooter Arma 3 was shown under the guise of “military operations in Ukraine”.

At the end of November 2021, in the Kozelsky missile formation (Kaluga region), the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was loaded into a silo launcher (silo). The rocket was installed in the silo using a special transport and loading unit. The most complex technological operations took place within a few hours.

In January of this year, retired US officer Brent Eastwood called the Yars complexes one of the five most dangerous types of Russian weapons. In his opinion, Russia is increasing its prowess in the field of nuclear weapons, equipping nuclear missiles with hypersonic glide vehicles and improving attack helicopters and surface-to-air missiles.
